Kantonsspital Aarau

Project Overview:

In September 2026 (T08), the newly constructed Dreiklang building will be handed over to Kantonsspital Aarau by general contractor Implenia. To ensure a seamless transition and efficient logistics operations, external consulting was engaged for:

  • Developing a holistic FTS logistics operations concept
  • Creating an integrated pneumatic tube system logistics operations concept
  • Coordination between IBS (Inbetriebsetzung) and IBN (Inbetriebnahme)
  • Development of a detailed IBN roadmap, including clear tasks, responsibilities, and dependencies
  • Coordination between IBN and relocation planning to ensure a seamless transition.

Our Approach

We worked closely with Kantonsspital Aarau, suppliers, Implenia (general contractor), and Bauherrenvertretung Stokar + Partner, providing strategic guidance and hands-on project management to ensure the seamless integration of logistics and commissioning processes.

Our role included:

  • Project management and coordination across all stakeholders to align logistics and commissioning efforts.
  • Development of two logistics operations concepts—one for FTS (Automated Guided Vehicle system) and one for the pneumatic tube system (Rohrpost)—ensuring efficiency and adaptability.
  • Close collaboration with suppliers to define system requirements and integration strategies
  • Creation of a detailed commissioning (IBN) roadmap, outlining clear tasks, responsibilities, and dependencies for a structured implementation.
  • Ongoing implementation and management of the IBN roadmap, ensuring a smooth and efficient commissioning process leading up to 2027.

Results

  • Two comprehensive logistics operations concepts (FTS and Rohrpost), providing a structured framework for future hospital operations.
  • A detailed IBN roadmap, offering a step-by-step guide for the commissioning process.

This project lays the foundation for an efficient, future-proof hospital logistics system, supporting one of Switzerland’s most advanced healthcare facilities.
