Winterthur

Project Overview:

The city of Winterthur is expanding the Adlergarten senior living center to enhance its capacity and operational efficiency. In collaboration with PMO Keller AG, Manari GmbH conducted an in-depth analysis of intelligent transport systems (AGVs), assessing their feasibility for both the existing facility and the new expansion. The findings were compiled into a comprehensive report.

As part of the SIA Phase 31 through SIA Phase 53, Manari GmbH was engaged to provide external consulting for operational logistics, ensuring the development of a scalable and future-proof automation solution.

The primary objectives included:
  • Defining a concrete roadmap for automated logistics integration.
  • Guiding and advising the planning team on optimal logistics solutions.

Our Approach

We worked closely with the planning team, focusing on:
  • Ensuring maximum flexibility for the future integration of an automated logistics solution.
  • Reducing manual logistics efforts to improve efficiency.
  • Optimizing material flows across different operational areas.
  • Implementing process monitoring and visualization for better oversight.

Key contributions included:
  • Structural Requirements & Dependencies – Defining architectural considerations for future automation.
  • Implementation Planning – Advising on necessary construction measures to accommodate automation.
  • Space Planning Validation – Assessing the required logistics footprint.
  • Cost Estimation – Providing an initial cost assessment for automation components.

The results

A logistics plan that ensures maximum flexibility for the future integration of an automated transport system, allowing for seamless adaptation as operational needs evolve.

This project lays the foundation for a modern, efficient, and scalable logistics infrastructure at Adlergarten, supporting its long-term sustainability

Customer Review

In Ursula we have found a competent expert in the field of operational planning/logistics. Despite the high complexity of the project in terms of content and organization, she manages very well to identify the relevant needs and deliver targeted, phase-appropriate and high-quality results. An extremely pleasant collaboration!
